Gerard Hegarty is an impressionist artist based in Dublin. He studied in the National College Of Art and Design Kildare Street Dublin and subsequently with such renown artists as Arthur Mederson and Desmond Carrick.Gerard has taught art in secondry schools and adult painting in private and group classes. Gerard has been artist in residence and curator in the Village Art Gallery in Stillorgan Centre for 3 years.During his residency he fundraised for Laura Lynn Childrens Hospic and raised over €10,000.
Gerard exhibs on Merrion Square Dublin every Sunday. Gerard has curated his exhibition in Kilkenny Arts Festival 2010/2013 and Carlow arts festival 2013.
Gerards paintings are much sought after and are in private collections in Ireland and many parts of the world including Australia,America,England,Canada,Spain.
Tempera pure colour and pigments and experiments in mixing oils ensures his paintings are viberant and catch a moment on canvas.
Gerards paintings have been collected by Mathew Mc Connaghy, The American Embassy,Concern Head office and many major collections
