Priscilla Meintjes

As an Art Therapist, I deeply understand the profound healing power of art. Not only do I teach art online and provide therapy services to clients globally, but my relationship with art is a personal relationship that transcends mere technique - it serves as my sanctuary through life's tumultuous moments. I do not paint from photographs only when I am commissioned to do so. My paintings are all soulful expressions straight from my inner vision. Each canvas I create holds a piece of my soul, making every purchase an intimate connection with the buyer.
From a young age, my desire to create and express myself through art was paramount. I never had formal training but I devoured books and studied various techniques while experimenting with various materials. I found that I could escape the world while creating and that was super cool. I will sit in a room full of people and someone would mention they walked in the woods for example. My mind would immediately see the wood and the trees and the light shining on the leaves, to the point where I could smell the earth. I have then left the building...lol. My art carries the essence that reflects my heart.

I have a background in Human Resources and trained as a counselor. I assist people through art to heal from various traumas. My on-line therapy has a Christian foundation.

Library Hall 1989 - Exhibition with Gerhardt Kortenbout. The opening painting was Cup of Dreams - I received interesting write-ups from various art critiques. It was a very successful evening with all the paintings sold.

Solo Exhibition - Richards Bay Gallery 1996 - Sold 50% of paintings and received various commissions.

2011 - I opened my own Gallery within my Guesthouse called Artist's Retreat in the quiet town of Jacobsbaai, South Africa on the West Coast. I still do Wellness Retreats under the Business name.

With Covid, the gallery shifted to an online gallery namely Rubyrembrandt.
