Nami Salehi is a surrealism and fine art painter based in Los Angeles. He began his studies in art and painting when he was 11 years old, receiving the admiration of the queen of Iran and eventually being offered a scholarship. Nami took classes with masters Firooz Arjomandnia and Abbas Katoozian for over 20 years and received his diploma in Fine Arts. During his time in Iran, his work was featured in over 20 galleries, including the renowned Shirin Gallery and Niavaran Gallery, where he won an award amongst 400 other artists. With the recognition from these events, Nami was able to exhibit in Turkey’s Ataturk Museum, representing the country of Iran. Since 2012, Nami has been working in Los Angeles, displaying in Mehr Gallery and New York’s ArtExpo, and was recently published in Elite Magazine.
Originally starting as a realism painter, he was later inspired by the Greek Mythology of Psyche and Amore, the story about overcoming the obstacles of love between Psyche (soul or breath of life) and Cupid (desire), and thus their ultimate union. From 2003, he began to build his career in surrealism, alongside his fine art work.
