Igor Lipskykh

Igor is currently exploring the representation of the human image. Fascinated by portraits, he continuously reinterpret them through the use of color, shape, rhythm, and texture. By employing his unique artistic language, the artist seeks to convey the characters of their subjects, highlighting their traits and individuality. He intentionally incorporate ambiguity, valuing the opportunity for viewers to interpret the image based on their own experiences and perceptions.
The artist also prioritizes creating a sense of interaction between the characters in his paintings and the audience. It is important to him that these figures engage with the viewer, acknowledging his presence and being ready to share their stories.
In his practice, the artist moves away from excessive detail and strictly realistic techniques, favoring freer and more expressive approaches.
Particularly captivated by color, the artist views it as the first and most impactful element in a painting. He thinks that color not only shapes the mood of a piece but also communicates its essence without relying on intricate detail.
