My physical and spiritual connection to the land and sea ultimately excites my conscience. It is the spontaneous visits to nature that bring the best out in us. I rejoice in the depth and humor of our own existence.
Painting outdoors, en plein air, is where I go to study landscape painting. Only then can I settle into studio with new ideas.
My love in art began through the influence of my Grandmother's tutelage in painting and my father’s expansive collection of fine art books.
Formal education began in Europe at the Paris American Academy of Art. Following Paris, she attended Otis Parsons School of Art in Los Angeles.
Her ambition as a painter continued as she won a full grant to the Peoples' Republic of China to be the guest artist in a Western/Eastern art exchange program. She has led numerous art and photography educational programs internationally.
Renowned in art for her American landscapes, she now pursues a variety of work both Plein Air and Impressionistic Expressionism in Laguna Beach, California .
Cydette has received numerous awards, exhibited her artwork nationally and is part of corporate and private art collections around the world.
