Olesya Novikova

I was born in Moscow in 1980.
My path as a creator began with arts and crafts, I painted glass and ceramic dishes. Also, annually, I created collections of designer Christmas tree decorations. The earliest Christmas tree decorations were made from burnt out light bulbs. I was very inspired by the fact that you can create something beautiful and necessary from unnecessary garbage.
I came to oil painting unexpectedly. I found a box of oil paints that remained from my grandmother, she was a graphic artist. I wanted to get to know this material better, I read a lot of literature, watched videos, master classes. It seemed incredibly difficult to me, and I decided not to try. But somewhere deep in me this curiosity was already ripening. And I did it. Gradually, I finally fell in love with oil painting. This smell, hey mixes of colors, these thoughts of mine that can be painted.
So, I have been doing oil painting for 6 years. I try myself in different directions and styles of art. Most of all, I gravitate towards the decorative style. My passion for decorative types of creativity turned into painting on canvas.
