Cory Varcoe is passionate about capturing the beauty of the nude in a new light. Bodyscapes reveals the human form in rarefied and deeply atmospheric photographs.
Over the past five years, Cory Varcoe has been capturing the human body, creating fine art photographs that reflect his surroundings and using the body’s nude form to emulate landscape. By using the purest aspect of the body in its nude form, body and skin evoke the texture of land with layers of ambiguity and mystery. This creates visual landscapes that lure the viewer into thinking they are looking at a far-off place, before drawing the eye closer. At this point, the viewer may realise that what they are looking at is made up of parts of the human body.
