Fausto Saglauskas Dias

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in the 1960s, during the military dictatorship I began to loathe authoritarianism. As a teenager, I got involved with the underground scene in São Paulo. From an early age I acquired a taste for drawing and painting, despite having always kept it in self-teaching.
In the late eighties and early nineties my life was shaken by a tragedy. I went through a series of outbreaks, later diagnosed as Schizo- Affective Disorder, a form of schizophrenia associated with mood disorders.
My recovery was slow and this was one of the reasons why I only started to become a professional in Art a few years ago.
Currently retired from the public service I am able to dedicate myself with more intensity when working on artistic and a series of other projects.
I intend to revisit some of the avant-gardes of the twentieth century by a current perspective, using traditional and digital means.
