Jon Peterson

About the Artist

Jon Peterson was born in 1945 in Stillwater, Minnesota. He has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Fine Arts from Otis Art Institute/Parsons School of Design. In 2013 he had a survey of his work at L.A. Artcore, Los Angeles. During the 70s he had four solo exhibitions at Newspace and in the 80s, he had a solo exhibition at Protech-McIntosh Gallery and a public art commission in Washington D.C., as well as commissions in Houston, Texas and Los Angeles, CA. His work has been included in numerous gallery and museum group exhibitions. He has served on several boards of Los Angeles art organizations, including LACE, LARABA (Los Angeles River Arts and Business Association) and Inner City Arts, and was the President and founding member of Downtown Arts Development Association (DADA). He is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship (1980). Peterson lives and works in Pasadena, California.
