Geoff Barker

Geoff is best known for his bold abstract paintings and use of vibrant colour. Creating a detailed marriage of paint flow, micro detail and open space that brings the image to life.

Born in 1959 Geoff is a self taught artist in fine art focusing on bird life and with a commercial graphic design back ground, he freelanced in the height of the 80’s buzz in Covent Garden as a paste up artist for Time Out magazine and numerous studios and agencies in Soho. He was in his element with art and music.

Geoff has lived by the sea in Lee Bay North Devon for several years having acquired and renovated an old Wesleyan chapel, he has been strongly influenced by the wild North Devon coast line and dramatic weather and he loves painting the bold shapes depicted by the coast line and sea.

Geoff now lives in Oxfordshire with his wife Jules, he has returned to his love of painting in a abstract style by blending paint flow and graphic design.

His lifelong love of colour and his passion for nature and wildlife has encouraged Geoff
to indulge and follow his instincts, be creative, and let it happen.
