Andrii Maikovskyi

Andrii Maikovskyi is a fine art outdoor photographer based in Chernihiv, Ukraine, member of the National Society of Photo Artists of Ukraine, member of Kyivphotos-Hall Art Association , Awarded Photographer of 1x online gallery.

In his artistic journey Andrii seeks the sense of serenity and meditativeness in the fluid world photographing landscapes, architecture, destinations, nature, and abstracts. Calmness and harmony are exactly what photography can give to the modern human world and it is exactly what it needs, and he tries to bring that sense to a viewer through his works.

Andrii's gear from 2024 is incredible Sigma sd Quattro camera equipped with Foveon sensor which he dreamed of for a long time, with fantastic Sigma 24-36 F2.0 ART prime zoom (and some other lenses). Sometimes he shots with unique vintage fixed-lens compact camera Sigma DP2 (with older variant of Foveon sensor also).

Andrii doesn’t utilize generative AI neither for creation of works nor for their post-processing or editing. The real world around us is infinitely intriguing and diverse. So he utilizes in his work the pure photography shot and classic plain editing software in his Linux-based PC studio.

2023 – successfully completed the online Specialization ‘Modern and Contemporary Art and Design’ from The Museum of Modern Art (New York, USA) incl. 4 courses, i.e. Seeing Through Photographs

Special education in photography - studied under Michael Kenna, Art Wolfe, Sergey Tumasoff (renown Ukrainian travel photographer), Valery Leshchynsky (honored Ukrainian art photographer, top leader of National Society of Photo Artists of Ukraine) and others.
