John Cappelano

I am an Italian American artist working currently out of a beach studio in Madeira Beach, Florida. I have worked in New York and Los Angeles in the past and maintain contacts in Boston, Washington, New York, Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. I believe there is nothing more powerful than human emotions and nothing more beautiful than the human form. I love the tension between everyday people and media celebrity. I seek truth and expect to find it in the faces I study and the people I paint.

I have degrees from Yale University and the University of Southern California. I have studied under Harold Pattek, Dietmar Winkler, Alma Davenport, Walter Kopec, Stephanie Sabato and Robert Barry. I have also studied at The University of Massachusetts and under additional direction with RISD professors. I hold a Doctoral Level degree, two Master’s Degrees and my BFA was earned in Visual Arts.
