Eve Bigaj

I love color, light, and texture, and I'm happiest on the edge of abstraction and representation, applying thick layers of oil paint to landscapes and portraits. I strive to express the joy and awe I feel in front of nature and humanity.

I spent 14 months living in Senegal, and my art is deeply indebted to the beauty of the Senegalese people.

I'm a (mostly) self-taught artist with a background in philosophy (I have a PhD from Harvard).
