Irfan Shaikh

Irfan Shaikh is a contemporary minimal painter. I live in Toronto, Canada. I have a visual feel to whatever I see and am capturing the best of what nature has to give. He has participated in several group shows in Toronto. I have explored everything from non-representationalism through abstraction to high realism, for searching my true personal voice. The subject of my current paintings is usually architecture, fonts or some special objects with my own version.

I look at the subject just as some marks in my paintings. Keeping the most of the canvas open and free is important to me – probably as an impact of the use of open in many oriental compositions on me.” Less
