Color has the ability to provoke an endless amount of feelings. While painting, my concern is how colors communicate, enabling one another to become something bold, new, and fresh. A variety of materials link all the components, contributing to the final piece's unification. Every painting contains bright, extraordinary colors, and what seems like chaos at first, transforms into a balanced and intentional explosion of color. I play with the opacity of the multi-layer paint allowing the colors to intermingle and form new shapes and tones. there is an inherent contradiction within my work. While I use thin application, the colors are what directs the image, and although the color-form created is non-objective, there is a distinct atmosphere and depth. Through all of the pandemonium within the painting, balance emerges.
