Carmen Draghici

I was born in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, in a family that was always passionate about fine arts. I have been painting since I can remember. As a child, I spent all my summers at my grandmother’s house, which was situated in a small Romanian town, called Olanesti- a fairy town with a forrest near the house and wildness everywhere. I think that the surroundings there had a big influence over my art in regards with picking up the colours and the subjects. In all my paintings, I try to emulate the joy that I feel while being in the nature, watching a flower or a beautiful sunset.
In the present, I live in Bucharest, together with my husband - who is also an artist, and both of my sons.
As an artist, I place myself between impressionism - in regards with the gesture and brush strokes, and explosive and pure colours- specific to pop art.

I'm licensed in medicine, but I'm proud of my sculpting school that I followed in my early ages of adolescence that gave me all healthy principles, and sense of proportions that I rely on, since then.
