Antonio Campana

I define me like an artist in love with painting. I was drawing and painting teacher for a long time at differents secondary schools in Spain, and others arts institutions.
In my painting I always look for a great technique knowledge, mixed with creativity and color armony, I love the lightness of bright colors and play with order in composition to.
I think my early artworks are more classical because they come from the traditional realistic painting: Still lifes, Landscapes, Portraits and Nudes; all of them are painted in_situ from natural, without any photografic image reference. However my current work is more surrealistic because I draw on my imagination to do the composition. The idea usually come to my head in the morning when I get up. Then I spend some days visualizing the images in my mind and maturing the idea ( format, materials, sizes...). Some times I use reference images if I need for sketching and then I decide what colors and lighting i have to use.
