My name is Laura Cárdenas. I’ve been painting since 1983. I live in Torreón (Northeastern Mexico) and have had a number of local exhibitions. I enjoy working in acrylic paint and find that it is a versatile medium and sympathetic to my way of working. Fascinated by texture, color and patterns I've followed my professional training by self acknowledgement, experimentation and search of new contemporary techniques. I have my studio and gallery where I work every day.

I've been part of countless expositions (collectives and individuals) in different institutions, such as: Teatro Martínez (INBA), Banamex ICOCULT, Marriot Hotel, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campestre Torreón (with my own annual project called Wings of Sand) and government art expositions.
My work is now exhibited in different galleries around Mexico and I have sold some of my paintings to Germany.
