Claudia Esqueda

The painting of Claudia Esqueda lend themselves to symbolic interpretation to the habitual reading o fan abstract painting. In this perspectiva , it is important to apreciate the movements, the re-composition the white shadow projected on a "background" formed by streams of colour, the organization of which, obviously, cannot be understood of a complete process but as an individual movement and, more carefully, as a movement determined by an invisible process. In this way the elements, underline whith their position and temporary relationship a condition, which intesifies the paradox of art: it is about fixing an insant that does not exist by itself, but in a continuity the diferentiation of which can be relizedonly though abstractions. Every time the artist experiments, she ignagurates an unrepeatable moment whith recurring elements. In this case, it is correct to say that the longest continuous and sinuous ones (that become horizontal as soon as they can), are sitll seen as basic signes of the code that later will dissolve itself: the closed or semiclosed unity opposes the extended continuity. That is going by and what has already gone: time.

Claudia Esqueda was born in Mexico city. She studied in the National School of Arts “La Esmeralda”. Claudia was invited to form part of the graphic arts workshop “Taller de Gráfica Experimental” in la Habana Cuba where she stayed for a few months. For three years she work directly with the famous artist Gabriel Macotela who was Claudia's mentor; with him they work on many projects such as painting murals in buildings and theater set design and many other interdisciplinary projects.
Claudia participated in various collective exhibitions abroad and nationally such as: From Narrative to Conceptual at the Century Club in London and at the Mexican Embassy in London as well in Milan, Italy at “The Gallery”. Some of her solo exhibits include: “Nodulos” at “The Gallery” Mexico City and “Caminos de la Escencia” in the Casa de Francia Mexico City; “De Intramuros al Viaje” The Gallery” Mexico city; “Señales de Paso” Casa Guillermo Bonfil Batalla, Mexico City. She was selected to participate in different art contests such as: “Los derechos de los niños”, the Biannual of Art-toy-object Museo de la Ciudad de México and for the art fair Expresarte at the Convention Center for the Americas, Mexico City.
