My art is primarily organic abstraction, often portraying surreal and softened landscapes. A dream or nebulous quality marks both transitions and compositions. This is derived from a mode of life, which is rooted in inner stillness. I lived in South West France, surrounded by tranquil forests and now live in Sussex. That quietness of being is what I strive for in my studio. I paint without distraction, so that I can fully connect with what I am creating. The more I can remove myself from the process, the better the work.
I only paint in oils as they give such wonderful luminosity and I prefer large scale pieces for freedom of mind.
