Monica Fernandez

Originally coming from Tenerife , I made my base in England in 1996.

I use film and photography as my tools to explore concepts of identity, capitalism, Catholicism, dysfunctional families, eating disorders that I often use in my work.

After completing an MA in Photography at De Montfort University, I have been commissioned to develop artistic projects such as:
- Organic Cities (2006 - City Gallery & BBC Leicester)
- Objetivo Digital (2006 - Carpe Diem, Spain)
- Feet (2006- La Guayaba Spain)
- Momayo (2007- Garcia Sanabria, Spain)
- E-fusiones (2007- Club de Prensa Canaria, Spain)

At present I am developing a Research and Development grant from the Arts Council of England to structure and develop my own work-portfolio.
