Yanixia Laguna

  I was born in Cuba in 1979 in the province of Ciego de Avila. I emigrated to Austria in 2016, to the city of Vienna. Im a self-taught artist. Painting has been a revelation. Living in Austria has been a challenge in all aspects of my life. Making on me flowers, emotions and mixed feelings that I needed to channel, and through painting has been able to achieve. Painting for me is very liberating and full of satisfaction and joy. I prefers to paint flowers, mountains, trees and rivers. Landscapes in a general sense. Because they offer a feeling of peace, harmony, happiness , hope and longing. And that is precisely what I want to express in mine artworks, the feeling of mine feelings. I also paints abstracts that contain these themes and likes to occasionally add a touch of fantasy to mine works. I uses the Acrylic technique on canvas but Im open to new techniques and styles.

1 year in the Medicine University. 4 years in the Tourism School . Autodidact Artist.

I have recently made 5 exhibitions, in GALERIE am PARK Vienna , in PANCHOS-Wien , in the Gallery La Bodeguita Salsera in Vienna , Lokal Mi Barrio in Vienna and in the Studio 1010 .I have been also recently invited to exhibit at the Art Center at TriBeCa Manhattan in Newyork.
