My art is the combination of both figurative and abstract elements.
Painting has evolved from realism, to surrealism, and abstract. I am motivated by the relationship of colors and space, and our emotional reaction to the way they intersect. The themes I explore include the interplay of light and shadow, duality of extremes, and their symbolism in our lives.
I usually paint women and this is often the common denominator of my works. I also turn to abstract art that gives great freedom. But I always start working on the painting from reality, to later transform it. Every painting, especially abstraction in the art of painting, is a continuous journey that you never know how will end
The BEACH cycle is a synthesis and minimalism of form and color. Images are cleared of unnecessary elements. Through synthesis, I strive to capture the essence, abstract, isolate what is most important, convey the mood, emotions and relationships.
