Methods strong, colors expressive, forms familiar and unfamiliar, Eric Walton reaches for deep understanding in a world of social dictates. Like the Surrealists and Abstract Expressionists, he asserts individuality, pathology and identity through his work. In this world of conformity and commercialism he delivers his assault. He is order and disorder, sadness and laughter, beauty and tragedy, unshackled and suspended, chaos filled, but infused with solid clarity.

Through his art he explores and reclaims his right to freedom from social norms and limitations. He is the human explorer. He is neither boxlike nor malignant, but awash in free color, form and thought, and like the free form of dance he propels us ever further towards that free form end.
