Antonio Caloca is an independent visual artist who comes from the city of Xalapa. His process of learning and development as a creator has been completely self-taught through experimentation and constant practice with materials.
He translates his artistic language through medium and large format painting. In addition to this, he has also ventured into digital illustration and installation. His works have been exhibited individually and collectively in different galleries and public spaces of the Mexican Republic.
In the course of his career the use of geometry in his artistic work has caused his works to be transformed from well-defined figurations, where vibrant colors contrasted with neutral colors narrated the visual construction of everyday life and thoughts of the artist, in completely abstract works.
Currently, his search and technical development are focused on the exploration of color applied to geometric constructions that show the peculiar look he has acquired over the last years, taking as inspiration the contributions granted by the Bauhaus, Kandinsky, Mondrian and Mexican geometrism
