Hi my name is Dan Moores I am a student currently studying a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and Professional Practice, at Blackpool and the Fylde College/Lancaster University. My work is to examine the relationship of art and technology, explore the aesthetics of the digital image too question how people perceive art, that art and technology are bound by their mutually dependent elements. Separating them is arguably neither simple nor practical. Because of its use of technology, digital art has been considered inferior to traditional art forms. I feel that digital art can be just as expressive and diverse as its cousins painting and drawing. Digital art is not the annoying stepbrother of the three - they are blood relatives. The problems lie in the terminology we use to describe a digital image, the phases "digital painting" or "digital drawing". Even though a digital image can be influenced by the two it is neither a painting nor drawing, to some this sounds fake that digital art can only mimic traditional forms when this is not tune.
