Daniel Dacio is a Spanish painter based in Madrid. His work explores myth, the human body and symbolic narrative through contemporary figurative painting.
He studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid and was later admitted as a copyist at the Prado Museum, where he studied the techniques of the Old Masters directly from the original paintings.
Alongside painting, Dacio has explored a wide range of techniques, including woodcut, engraving, egg tempera, mural painting and polymer-modified stuccoes with marble dust. He has also worked as an illustrator for specialized publications, a web designer and a storyboard artist for film and television.
His current body of work, The Error of Prometheus, uses classical mythology as a lens through which to reflect on knowledge, ambition, uncertainty and the limits of human understanding.
