As a painter I am attracted to colour and have found inspiration for recent work in the places I know well. I am a British artist who is based in Mallorca Spain and Sussex England. I have also lived on Cayman Brac, Cayman Islands where I still have one foot in the sand.

My garden and a mixture of influences from Islamic design inspired the paintings in this series. I have shown them here hanging informally in the garden where they were painted, reminding me of the Arab tradition of patterned carpets of colour, designed to be displayed and then rolled up for travel.
