Sara Allen-Bouda

Born 1964 in London. Female, but not feminist, artist. And Yes, I believe there's a difference.

I was born in London in 1964, a time of racial tensions and upheavels, my family came here from the West Indies and having the mentality almost accepted that being black made you inferior, never quite stuck, I always said, Im damned on all sides, Black, female and now Muslim, theres nothing left for me to fear, this is what transcends and encompasses my ideas and art.
