Farly Y. Portilla was born in Pamplona, Colombia in 1982. He grew up in a colonial city surrounded by mountains. He cultivated his passion for art and humanities and studied Social Communication. 6 years later she traveled to Michigan to prepare and 6 months later she was a volunteer in Africa, Mozambique.
After working with vulnerable populations, women, orphaned children with HIV, and youth, she concentrated on writing and recounting the experience. The cultural exchange gave him new feelings. Years later she realizes that painting is another of the manifestations that leads her to show realities. His writings and paintings capture sensitivity.
Violence in Colombia leads her to leave the country and take refuge in Miami with her family. Farly is influenced by the connection with nature, the mysticism of women and gratitude for life despite the circumstances, in her paintings she reveals the connection that naturally flows when painting.
