Luc Babin

Luc Babin, born in Niort (79) in 1953, lives and works in Val d'Oise (95).
When he was a child, Art was the other side of the world. He is therefore self-taught.
The desire to confront the material quickly led him to practice acrylic painting.
The need to experiment is its driving force.
His practice is mainly non-figuration. Nature is his main source of inspiration; he draws from it lights, energies and particular forms.
The theme of time is one of its major subjects. It is recurrent in the different series that constitute his career : "Time suspended", "Time watchers", "The nature of the world", "Ultimate lands" ...
Painting is a journey of life: a space for discovery, for meetings ...

I am a biologist by training; you will easily find the influence of this part of my life on this series "Time suspended". However, painting came into my life over thirty years ago. I trained by working in several workshops. I am therefore self-taught.

Many exhibitions in Ile de France (Paris, Val d'Oise, ...) mainly and sometimes in the provinces.
