About dorothy churchill-johnson

I was born and brought up in Boston, Massachusetts. I can't remember a time when I didn't have a pencil in my hand and a pad of paper to draw on. The artistic gene comes from the Swedish side of my family. My father could draw anything with photographic realism. I've never imagined being anything but an artist, although there was a time after graduating college that i had to wait for my ideas to come of age.

Graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus.

President emeritus and founding board member of Santa Barbara Studio Artists, an organization of professionals who maintain working studios in Santa Barbara. SBSA holds an annual Open Studios Tour in which I've participated since 2001.
