Ida Karkoszka is a Polish sculptress whose art tells about the relationship between man and the planet. Interestingly, in her works devoted to this subject, humans do not appear directly. What is visible is just their influence on the world that they were given opportunity to share.
Karkoszka has found her own, very personal way to point out problems caused by destructive human activity. She communicates with the world using objects she puts in the public space or encloses them in a frames of a photographs. Displaying the work in the right place and using it in a specific context allows her to get a very clear message, aimed at making the recipient think. For many, this form of communication is something new and thus it is more memorable, evokes deeper emotions, and provokes discussion.
