Erik Karlsen

Erik Karlsen, born in 1967 (in Norway) has his background and education in typography, graphic design and marketing. After twenty years as designer, art director and founder of two advertising agencies, he is currently working as marketing manager for the major distributor of artist materials in Norway (Tegnesenteret AS). He started painting portraits in 1988 and merged into photography and digital arts as a commercial designer and illustrator in the early nineties. Since 2005 the main influence has been arctic landscapes and sculptured images in large formats. The complexity of relativity and unseen forms in objects and nature has been a wide study for the last years. The subject of a wide range of his most recent works is the expression of emptiness shown with the movement of objects.
