Frankie Borrero

Frankie BorreroBorn September 2, 1971Manhattan, New York Currently residing in GA, USADrawing has been Frankie's passion since preschool. Surprisingly he was able to form pictures to paper almost immediately after he could hold a pencil. Early on Frankie was told that he was 100% color blind. Thus began his love affair with graphite and pencils. Although being color blind has limited Frankie's range of media, he fully concentrated on shading and contrast instead of color. Even though he's had no formal training and is completely self taught, he loves to draw and that is good enough for him. In the fall of 2006 Frankie decided to take a giant leap into the unknown and try something totally new...paint. Though seeing colors is a challenge, "reading" them has helped him progress in this newfound media. frankie's goal is to convey messages and provoke thought with his paint work as well as he has with pencil.

Frankie is a brand new emerging artist to the public. He has over 20 years experience with graphite and although he has no formal training he creates amazingly detailed works of art. In an effort to overcome color blindness he uses detail and shading to produce striking contrasts in his work.
