Iryna Maklakova

My name is Iryna Maklakova and over 20 years I have been working as an editor and graphic designer (mainly vector graphics). Now I have chosen the main direction for myself – print design.
I studied fine arts for 8 years. The symbiosis of skills in graphics, painting and design is reflected in my paintings today. I love working with geometric shapes, 2D orientation, clean, vibrant colors and unexpected color combinations.
I am looking for unusual colors and subjects in nature and on city streets. I love the black and white duet, it always gives the image contrast, dynamics and purity. I want my works to bring joy and good mood, bring aesthetic pleasure, set people up for happiness and abundance, give faith in their dreams, desires and goals. Therefore, my work is characterized by childish naivety and simplicity, which adults often lose.
I am interested in everything related to the theme of abundance and wealth. I study these phenomena and reflect in my works. I love megacities, but I admire nature. Therefore, I take ideas from nature and urbanize its. My characters look like wooden figures. I imagine that they can be carved from wood and I paint them like that.
