Manuela Rossi

My name is Manuela Mirka Rossi.
I am Mother and I am Father,
but I don't give up being a Child.
For artists, works have a precise reason in the historical moment in which they see the light. Then you change.
Everything influences our being.
As a young woman I often fell in love
not just men.
It also happened with the Sign,
with which I caress the soul of each figure.
I kept the excitement in those days.
From travels to Brazil and Africa I brought home the colors, smells, encounters and the primordial feeling of having roots.
From motherhood I distilled the essence of being,
to live,
give and receive.
I live in front of an expanse of water
where thoughts ride the waves in my eyes.
I don't see landscapes, people, animals,
I rather perceive emotions and translate them into images.
The needle of my balance oscillates between concreteness and instinct,
I'm a bit primitive.
Repetitiveness bores me.
In my works there is all this.


After the Art School, I enrolled at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, addressing scenography, unfortunately I did not pass the admission exam ... but I immediately started working in a scenography studio in Milan learning how to make team, works for the municipality and television...

My artistic training is academic, in high school I respected my gruff and very good teacher of figure and I was passionate about the study of the human body.
Later, I felt the need to experiment with color and the free interpretation of forms and my research gave me the opportunity to work with a historic artist of the Milanese avant-garde of the 1950s, promoter of nuclearism, the evolution of spatialism.
I thus discovered an art made of materials and coloristic explosions and I dived into it producing various canvases.
In the meantime, the graphic and scenographic experience gave me other types of suggestions.
My works are a combination of all this.
