Anton Bouwer

I am Anton Bouwer (BOU), artist whose creations conceptualize original one-off steampunk and metal art projects consisting of my ideas, background and a lot of interesting and used metal components.
I stay in Mossel Bay, a beautiful town in the heart of the Garden Route of South Africa. I have been working as an auditor for more than twenty years of my career but in my heart I am a musician and artist which I trained for after school – played in a brass band for four years, worked as an artisan for the same period and are still singing whenever I can.

Remember when we were young and possessed the gift of excitement and imagination when we awaited and experienced something for the first time…that is the feeling I strive to trigger in the mind of the observer and owner of my metal and steampunk art. Each artwork is sub consciously chosen and created with the end product in mind, a process I thoroughly enjoy. I completed thirteen works and have four more in completion stage at the moment with many more I plan to start work on in the near future. I am a qualified Technical Auditor with a honors degree in Asset Management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. In my younger days i played in a brass band for four years and achieved my final degree in tuba performance with the Royal School of Music in London. After that I qualified as a boilermaker artisan where my love for metal work developed. I experimented with art work for more than 20 years although my art pieces available have all been created during the last three years.
I started my studies in the early 80's and achieved my Industrial Engineering degree and my honors degree in Asset Management.

Saatchi art will be my first official exhibition as i focused on producing art to build up some inventory.
