Painting came to me later than some, but in quick time I've found it to be a great passion and one of the greatest, most beautiful methods of self-expression. My mother is an artist, so it feels as though I inherited her interest. Although, while she enjoys the wonders of still life, I've found great footing through abstract and expressionism.
Above all else, I adore the freedom the styles afford and how they let me work without limits or boundaries. My way of painting is to be driven by feeling and pure instinct as I find them such trustworthy guides in navigating the canvas. That said, I do enjoy taking myself out of my comfort zone and trying the odd landscape. Most, if not all, have been so heavily influenced by my brief, yet magical time spent in the Austrian Alps a few years ago. To this day, I find those memories provide me with wonderful inspiration.
