Gavin Cologne-Brookes

Gavin Cologne-Brookes is an author and painter. His portraits feature on or in his own and others’ publications. Until the summer of 2019, Gavin was Professor of American Literature at Bath Spa University. He’s given talks on literature, culture and creativity in Luxembourg, Germany, France, Turkey, Romania, Kenya, Spain, Portugal, Brazil, Uruguay and across the United States.
Now an Emeritus Professor, he divides his time between Wiltshire and Paris while writing a book that combines memoir and travel writing with reflections on painters and painting. He is also preparing for an exhibition at the BSU Corsham Court Campus, Wiltshire. Cadmium Thread: Local to Global Paintings 2011-2022 will feature many of the paintings on display here.
