Mary Koneff

I grew up in Ohio and received a BA in Art from Antioch College. After finishing my degree I moved to San Francisco, where I was a member of a feminist art collective comprising of 14 individual artists studios, where I lived and worked. It was a very reinforcing environment, where I was immersed in a world of like minded artists (who also dispensed with the luxuries of heat and individual bathrooms). I obtained representation shortly after relocating and continued to exhibit throughout the Bay Area during my 8 year tenure. I have since been residing in Los Angeles and have continued to show across the country. My work has been reviewed in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Los Angeles Times, Art and Antiques, The Baltimore Sun and the Albany Times Union.

I’ve had 8 solo exhibitions, four with the William Turner Gallery in Santa Monica CA, and participated in group shows at the Babcock Galleries New York NY, Ruth Bachofner Gallery Santa Monica CA and the Gerald Peters Gallery Santa Fe NM

My work has been included in exhibitions at Gibbes Museum of Art, Charlotte, SC, Art Museum of South Texas, Corpus Christi, TX, Westmoreland Museum of Art, Greenburg, PA, Middlebury College Museum of Art, Middlebury, VT, San Bernardino County Museum, Redlands, CA, Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, Owensboro, KY and the Western Gallery, West Washington University, Bellingham, WA where I exhibited with artists that included Willard Dixon, Paul Resika, Wolf Kahn, Richard Estes, Alex Katz, Hunt Slonem and Suzanne Caporeal.
