Viliam Polák works with painting, graphic design, and art photography. In his work, he is interested in corporeality and its modifications in confrontations with space, material or the phenomenon of light. Philosophical, emotional and even mystical space becomes an important element in which he wraps his figurative and abstract compositions. His painted images are rather of a structural or abstract nature, but at the same time having some connection, even if only slightly, with reality. The meaningful will of these non-aggressive compositions with a special and even poetic sensitivity is to learn what is beyond the world, under the surface, beyond the visible side of life.
For the cycle LUCIS ORTUS:
A veil of helplessness, hopelessness and apathy in the land of the subconscious
can be revealed by the inner light of knowledge and hope,
as the first rays of the morning sun flood the new day.
