Celeste Devries

Settled in Nairobi, Kenya, Celeste de Vries is an artist who has spent a significant amount of time travelling and working throughout Africa.
Whilst living in Nigeria, Celeste held her fist exhibition being a Solo, which was also the Opening Exhibition for the acclaimed Waterford Gallery. This exhibition was Curated by the Word Renowned Professor Molo who flew out from New York for the Opening.
Since then, Celeste has exhibited in Nigeria, in the UK and in Kenya several times.
Her original works are now hang in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, UAE and various countries across Africa.

Although her passion is depicting wildlife and nature through sketches, paintings and oil pastels she also dabbles in various subject matter in numerous mediums. Her subjects are often depicted in great detail with emphasis on movement and light.

Her philosophy regrading her art is that the viewer should derive as much pleasure from looking at the piece as what she had producing it.
