Ángeles Comba Santonja

My name is Ángeles Comba Santonja, and I come from a family of Spanish well known painters. From the famous painter Eduardo Rosales, important Spanish painter in the 19th century; with a room dedicated to him in the Prado Museum, in all generations there has been an artist.

I consider myself a very curious and restless person, what art needs like eating. I express my creativity in different ways: musically through the saxophone, an instrument that I have been playing for many years; with photography, what is an activity that allows me to capture the beauty of what I observe at any time and of course with painting and drawing, as it might be seen here. In both photography and painting, the main interest is in nature.

My painting is figurative, and they say that I have a harmonious and sober palette, although if the subject requires it I can use more vivid and contrasting colors.

I studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Complutense University of Madrid. There besides learning painting and sculpture, I trained as a restorer of works of art, work to which I currently dedicate myself. I create a society called Da Vinci Restauro in which I work for 20 years.

This work has allowed me to see many works of art and observe the technique of painters of different periods and styles.
