Le Mat Katell

Nice to meet you, my name is Katell.
I'm not Japanese.
But I’m a French minded artist that understands the hearts and minds of the Japanese.
I remember when I visited shrines and temples in Kyoto, I was often astonished by the beautiful fusuma paintings.
I used to replicate Choju-giga(Scrolls of Frolicking Animals) back in the days when I was a student.
I also love colors.
I use ink mixed with a lot of water to paint water-color paintings.
My paintings can be described as “hearts and minds of the Japanese drawn by the French”.
I paint in my atelier in Paris thinking of Japan.
I want many people to see my work, I will continue to post my Artwork, so please look forward!
