Drawing is the central core of my practice thinking process. Making marks that has meaning, collecting meaningful marks, giving meaning to any founding marks. I understand drawing as language, therefore as device, that allows me to produce and collect images from the inside of their own tradition, from whom they can´t break free. Through these device I investigate the occidental culture (barbaric, colonialist, built to satisfy the white male gaze) of the archive and its disposal of memory within all its ambiguities and passions.
Drawing is a fascinating device though which memory is always in the making, drawing is a verb and not the memory itself. It´s a process in which memory is made. A drawing is a glimpse of the memory in the process of its own making. A way to write fiction, so to speak.
