Qiaoyan Jiang

I was born in Hunan, Hengyang in1970, And since I was a young child I loved to draw. At the age of 16, I received an oil painting brush as a gift from my classmate, that was the first and the most precious gift I have ever received. When I was 17, I ignored my mother’s dissuasion and gave up my job at The Army Pharmaceutical Factory, instead, I went south to Shenzhen to find a part-time job. In 1988 I attempted oil painting which I fell deeply in love with, and I decided to concentrate on oil painting since then. I went to art college for professional studies in 1991. My first studies in an art class were at Chongqing, then in Yuanmingyuan, Beijing where a lot of Artists landed from different parts of China to live. I also attended the Oriental Culture and Art Institute College in Beijing. The four years that I studied there created my foundation, in art skills, art history, theoretical knowledge, and literature. I was also able to open the “Wenquan Studio” with Wenquan Liu while I was studying in college.
