"NONAME SERIES" THE MOVING BORDERS
Abstraction born from repetition.
This work is based on writing. The series "NoName" literally meaning
"without name" evokes all the unknown, the anonymous, those who
live in our neighborhood, sometimes our buildings, travelers, people
who come from elsewhere. The "NoName" on the canvas draws the
boundaries of a territory on which "whites" (virgin areas) fill with
color as a region fills with a population. The colors are different, the
mediums too: aerosol, acrylic, inks and pigments.
This first completed step corresponds to a view of a space at a given
moment. It is a slice of civilization that is portrayed on the canvas.
Then, on this colorful background, a story with other unknowns
(color, medium) who settle there, is written. They can even change
borders. Each canvas has a history of neighborhoods, regions,
maritime domains, continents, difficult areas and the cosmos.
Borders are moving like human beings, it is we who delimit these
arbitrary lines on the surface of the globe. They then change with our
story. So let's cross these terrestrial and psychic borders to meet
others
