Aleksandra Piasecka – architect, sculptor, founder of a Warsaw based studio for sculpture.

The work focuses on the female figure as a structure under tension — between the weight of everyday life and the drive toward growth, and the possibility of exceeding it.

The series “Woman Being” unfolds as a cycle of self-portraits, moving away from physical likeness in favor of an emotional record of experience.

The starting point is the portrait or the figure, whose form is extended through gravity, stretching, and the accumulation of matter. The form is not deformed, but exceeds its own boundaries — it densifies, expands, and reorganizes.

Aleksandra is interested in the moment when matter begins to operate according to its own logic — simultaneously overwhelming and stabilizing, leading to forms suspended between disintegration and persistence.

Aleksandra started her career in France, working for the leading architecture studios in Paris: Christian de Portzamparc , Manuelle Gautrand Architecture , Wilmotte & Associés Architectes .

She had to deal with people with a strong vision, people that were uncompromisingly pursuing their goals. This awakened in her the desire to seek her own vision and ...

Aleksandra graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Poznan University of Technology, she also studied at the University of Mons Faculty of Engineering in Belgium and Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.
