I usually start my works with a randomly placed stain or a stroke that manifests a state of meditation in muscular tension to allow myself to be sensitized by the form that has emerged. Then follows the absolutely rational process: balance masses, tones, nuances, textures, etc.
Other times I start from an image, an idea, related to colors and textures to seek a synthesis, only achieved when the work, in an intimate dialogue, would generate harmony for me.
It is the spirit of the creator, through his penetrating gaze,
his imagination, liven up by the history of his livings, and his crafts
that realizes the miracle of giving life to a new structure.

The artist like a craftman, as the master Joaquín Torres García said, is a helpful worker,
being humble, contemplative and playful, enjoying and astonishing when each new work appears.

Born in Montevideo in 1958, I began my formation in draw and painting in 1985, year of the reopening of the "Facultad Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes" of Montevideo, Uruguay. There I studied with the master Anhelo Hernández, who was disciple of Joaquín Torres García and was graduate of the "Universidad de la República O. del Uruguay" in Plastic and Visual Arts (Licenciado en artes plásticas y visuales).
After leaving university on 1990, I studied gravure with Anhelo Hernández, starting also the investigation of the interaction between the chromatic and volume structure.
